Description
A coded label generator for Danish craft brewery ÅBEN, letting users design unique beer labels through sliders and options, previewed live on a 3D can.

Initial visual reserach references around texture, nightlife, movement and distorted reflections to shape the visual atmosphere of the generator.
Looking into ÅBEN’s existing labels and visual language to understand recurring patterns and brand consistency.
Researching ÅBEN’s current labels to understand consistency, variation and brand identity.
Developing a colour system that could generate many unique combinations while maintaining visual consistency.
In this project i created a coded label generator for the Dansih brewery ÅBEN. The different output is defined by pre-made sliders and options that allows the user to design a new variation each time while still keeping the visual style alike. The project is created by making the graphic design and shapes in p5.js. Then i used shoelace to connect UI elements that lets the user interact with the design and create their own. I set up the generator by using HTML, CSS and JavaScript and connected a 3D model with Three.JS to show how the design would look on a beer can to give the user a better idea of how the design would work in practice. Since ÅBEN’s beer catalog is holding more then 400 different beers it was important to me that the design would be visually different and fun for each beer. Which also is why when you enter you can choose the beer type and then the design is different for each. My generator is using photo manipulation. For each beer you get a image and normal mode - so you can choose the graphic design or add a photo and manipulate it.
